Summer 2015 – Montana

So we are out in Montana visiting family and friends and sharing our favorite places with our daughter. We haven’t been back here since she was six months old – far too long – so this is all new to her. And in many ways, it is a new way for us to see things as well.

Living here, I think we took a lot of things for granted. There are many places I know I never took the time to check out because I was working and going to college. I never really had the opportunity – or rather didn’t take the opportunity to photograph this beautiful country when I was living here.

Evening on the Hi-Line.

I am now. I’m a picture taking fool and loving every minute of it.

We’re based in Helena at my husband’s mother’s house but drove up to Chester on the Hi-Line to take Grandma home and spend a couple days up there.

Last week we drove up to the Mission Valley to visit my husband’s father. This is the area I worked on a ranch in my late teens and twenties. It’s what I consider to be one of the most beautiful spots in Montana. The view when you come up over the hill on 93 and see the Mission Mountains never gets old.

I have so many more pictures. When I get home I’ll be able to sift through them and share in another post.

One thing I DID want to share today was that I got to meet up with another blogosphere friend! Our very own Matthew Brotherton lives in Helena so of COURSE we had to seize this fantastic opportunity to meet in person finally!

It was wonderful to get a chance to sit and talk with Matt in person. He has such a fantastic energy. It was a really fun evening. Thanks, Matt!

I can’t wait to meet more of our blogging friends. So far I’ve met Mark, Noel and now Matt. I’m so blessed to have these people and the other dear friends I’ve met online in my life.

I could go on and on about all the things we’re doing. I will. Just not today. My brain is still trying to process everything and frankly, I’m exhausted. I’m having a blast but I’m tired. A few down days is just what I need.

So I’m signing off now but I’ll be back. Sorry this post is sort of all over the place! It’s been a while!
