Spring Renewal

It’s been a month since I wrote anything here. It isn’t for lack of material. I guess you could say I’m building up my reserves! The last month has been a time of renewal. It’s been a time of venturing out, hiking, riding my mountain bike, taking pictures, planting flowers, mowing grass, soaking up sun, writing poetry again after a long dry spell and doing my best to live in the moment. It’s been wonderful – that is, aside from allergies!

The best way to describe how I am feeling these days is to say it is like waking up from a prolonged hibernation; a hibernation that lasted several years rather than just a season.

I got my fishing license for the year. We got our state park pass. I just need to get the trail pass for biking and the county park pass for up north and we’ll be set. Once my pumpkin is out of school for the summer break, we’ll be heading out and hitting the trails, the rivers and finding every adventure we can to make this summer one full of fun and discovery.

I’ve adopted the motto “Adventurous. Brave. Creative.” Sound familiar? It’s from “The Secret Life of Walter Mitty” which is an excellent movie. I highly recommend it. It’s one of those movies that makes the spirit sing. It definitely inspired me. 🙂

Here’s to living. Here’s to adventure, courage and creativity.

Happy Saturday!
