Hodgepodge Saturday

Happy Saturday! I  haven’t blogged in a while and thought this morning I would present to you a bit of a “hodgepodge” of things I am reading on the internet today.

*A Norwegian woman is raped while in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and she is the one imprisoned for having sex outside marriage. This is not the first time something like this has happened. And yet what is being done to stop it? When will our attitudes change regarding sexual violence and how many women will be denied justice before something is done?

*Where did the noodle originate and who does it best? The answer did not surprise me.
It’s a book I must read.

*Archaeologists claim to have found the palace of King David. Not everyone agrees.

*I have to say seeing a bunch of masked people out on the beach would freak me out if I hadn’t read this article about the Facekini.

*I just found out about the upcoming movie, Austenland this week and am terribly excited to see it. I just ordered the book. It seems like a light, fun read.

*AND, today (July 20th) is the official release day for my friend Stacey Joy Netzel’s brand new book, “Run to Rome”! You can find it on Amazon. Congrats, Stacey!

I hope you have a fantastic weekend! We are supposed to get a respite from the hot temperatures. I’m just hoping it holds true!

  1. Hey, this was kinda fun! I didn’t need to check the links of the first topic to know this is just plain wrong.

I don’t really care where the noodle originated, I just know it’s one of my favorite foods. *grin*

LOL on the Facekini. Not a fashion statement I’d like to make.

Austenland looks like a fun movie! Let me know how you like the book.

Thank you for sharing the link for Run To Rome! 🙂

    Have a great weekend!
