This Mother’s Day was all about simplicity. We received some bad news Friday night, so a weekend up north away from “life” is just what we needed.

I love trees.

I love trees.

We went up north on Saturday, celebrated a friend’s birthday that evening and spent Sunday out at the farm with the “Uncs”.

It was chilly and very windy but sunny. It was cold enough where we needed to wear several layers of clothing.

That is why I resembled a green Stay Puft Marshmallow Man in this picture of me.

We took a walk around the field, which is about a mile total. It’s always soothing, relaxing and invigorating up there. Check out the fresh bear track!

The trilliums are out finally. Everything is a little late this year in terms of Spring. The weather is still a little crazy. I don’t plan on planting any flowers until after Memorial Day.

All in all, it was a peaceful weekend and a very nice Mother’s Day of spending time with family – which is the best gift of all.

I LOVE these photos… and the bear track is phenomenal (and frightening!) Eeks. I think I especially love the image of you and your daughter walking the field. Precious. I hope you’re doing well.
