Scintilla 2013 – Day 3 – Sing a Song

Day 3. Talk about a time when you were driving and you sang in the car, all alone. Why do you remember this song and that stretch of road?

I’m afraid this might be quite boring because I sing in the car all the time. All the time. I am rarely in the car all alone since I have a five-year-old who goes everywhere with me. We sing together, I sing alone – we sing. How can you not sing when a favorite song is on the iPod or radio? I find it impossible NOT to sing. And since one of the things I always wanted to be was a professional singer – of COURSE I sing. I used to make money on the side by winning karaoke competitions and singing at weddings. I used to sing in church. Now, the only place I sing is at home or in the car. Lately I love singing to Madison Rising’s rendition of The Star Spangled Banner. It rocks and my heart wells up every time I hear it.

  1. Singing in the car is the great liberator and equalizer. I am terrible at remembering lyrics and so I fill in the blanks with “doo doo doo”. Ridiculous. But now I have a little voice singing “doo doo doo” with me.
