Scintilla Day One: Who are you?

Who Am I?

Not an easy question to answer! Instead, I put a slide show of me through the years. Since I turn forty this coming Saturday, it was even more interesting, to me, to look back through the years. It’s funny. It seems like so much of it happened only yesterday.

I didn’t include pictures of my pregnancy or my child as I am not entirely comfortable putting it out on the web.

I know this doesn’t really answer WHO I am, but it gives you a different perspective perhaps.

So, who am I? I’m still figuring that out in many, many ways. It’s not a bad thing. It’s an adventure. Every day I’m finding out more about myself – things I hadn’t realized until now.

Stay tuned…

  1. This is my absolute favorite Scintilla post of a all today! I love seeing these pictures of you through the years.
I so wish that we lived closer to each other. For your birthday, I would propose a picnic at the farm, under the bright blue sky. Wandering the fields and through the woods, hearing stories of you growing up, seeing the first buds of spring…
You are lovely, inside and out. It tickles me to see some of the teenage pictures, as we both went through the 80’s in similar styles.
    Happy Scintilla, my friend!

    • Thank you, Brandee! I wish we lived closer too. We would have a lot of fun together. I know that! And your idea for my birthday sounds so lovely! Right up my alley! And we would bring our journals and draw the things we see! You would come up with some gorgeous sketches. I’m so thankful for your friendship. There are still times I miss the 80’s terribly and the 70’s too – I must confess. LOL.

  2. Great post Tracy. I don’t think this is an easy question at all. Anyone who claims to know who they are from one moment to the next is only fooling themselves. We can have morals and ideas, but in a flash we can change into someone, or something, we never considered before.

    • Hi Jason! Thank you! It isn’t an easy question is it? For so many years I believed one thing, accepted one thing and then – there was a “shift” and I asked myself – WHY do I believe xyz? Do I really? So I’m in that process of sorting all that out. It’s scary and invigorating at the same time.

    • Oh thank you, Onyi! πŸ™‚ I felt the same thing when I saw the picture of you on your site – SOO dang stinking beautiful then and now! Inside and out.

  3. I can’t believe no one chewed off your cheeks when you were a baby – they are delicious! And I think we had the same pair of glasses at 14…love these pics!

    • Oh but boy oh boy did I get my cheeks pinched by people everywhere! It was like my cheeks just screamed to be pinched! It hurt so badly sometimes! Thank you though, I definitely had the cheek thing going for me. LOL! BIG glasses were such the rage back then – weren’t they?
