Travel – Mount Everest

If we live truly, we shall see truly. – Ralph Waldo Emerson

Not everyone wants to travel the world, but most people can identify at least one place in the world they’d like to visit before they die. Where is that place for you, and what will you do to make sure you get there?

For me, it is and always has been Mount Everest.

I don’t know why.

Since I was a child, Mount Everest has always fascinated me, intrigued me and filled me with an intense desire to look upon it with my own eyes.

I have no desire to climb it. I never have and never will. But that does not diminish my “need” to see it someday.

I want to see Nepal, experience the culture, sip Yak Butter Tea, taste Nepalese cuisine, visit the Kopan Monastery and hike to the Mount Everest base camp.

Someday, we will. Right now, I’m not sure how to make that happen but to start saving up for it and plan for it.

It’s not a matter of “if” but rather, when.

  1. Gorgeous! I love this. And I also love that you don’t want to climb it. I’ve read those books/accounts of the climb and they TERRIFY me!!

  2. Thanks you two. I’m not a risk-taker in terms of my life – and climbing it – oy I definitely am not courageous enough to do that but OH how I want to see it!
And Yak Butter Tea. It SOUNDS so good but who knows, I could be totally in for a shocker there!

  3. I love this because of its utter lack of reason. It just speaks to you, and you know it does, so you must go. (I could NEVER. All that snow! On purpose! No. You are tougher than I am by far.)
