December 28 – Achieve
What’s the thing you most want to achieve next year? How do you imagine you’ll feel when you get it? Free? Happy? Complete? Blissful? Write that feeling down. Then, brainstorm 10 things you can do, or 10 new thoughts you can think, in order to experience that feeling today.

I want to find peace within myself. I want to accept me for who I am and be content with that.
In terms of achievement, I would really like to finish my novel. I think I will feel free, happy and accomplished when I finally complete it.
You know, I actually feel that way today. I feel very peaceful, serene, content and happy and I haven’t felt that way in a long while. I am focusing on positive things and when I start thinking something negative, I counter it with something positive in its place and you know what? It is working.
I have so many things I would like to achieve in 2011. I think I can do it. I think that I will do whatever I can to make that happen. I’ve been so down the last few months and I really do not like feeling that way. A lot of it is out of fear. But what good is fear, really? I have to push the fear away and just live. I’m taking small steps. I am reprogramming my subconscious into thinking only good thoughts and tossing away the negative crap I’ve been filling my head with. It does me no good. It does the people around me – no good. I refuse to give in to it any longer.
So for me, 2011 is a year of letting go of the past, living actively in the present and stepping confidently into the future.
Patti Digh recently pointed out in one of her blog posts that there is no try. What she meant really did not resonate with me until JUST as I was writing this. I looked back and noticed how many times I used the word try in this post. Too many. So, I went back and deleted them. I will not try. I will DO.
I. WILL. DO!
Why is 2011 my year to shine?
Because it is.
I hope it is for you as well.
