December 25 – Photo – a present to yourself

Sift through all the photos of you from the past year. Choose one that best captures you; either who you are, or who you strive to be. Find the shot of you that is worth a thousand words. Share the image, who shot it, where, and what it best reveals about you.

This is Me!

This is Me!

(I know I used this photo in one of the other prompts but this is the one photo that truly captures ME, I think)

I shot this photo last February up at my Uncles’ property. I hung my camera off a branch and set the timer. It is one of my favorites because I am outdoors, it is winter and I am snowshoeing.

I feel exhilarated and strong. I am energized and at peace. Look behind me. See the heavenly white icing hanging off the trees? It is truly a winter wonderland and I am part of it. I am IN it and I love it. This is when I feel the most free-the most ME!

  1. You why I adore you? Because you make me look at things that I otherwise loathe (e.g. snow) and think “maybe it’s not so bad after all.” And not many can do that. <3

  2. Love this photo AND the way you described it! “Energized and at peace” … it’s such a juxtaposition but it’s so true. I feel this way when I feel most “me” too … and I’m working on making that a more frequent occurrence in 2011, not just a passing rainbow. Thank you for putting it into words for me so that i can get a better grasp of it!
