Body Integration

December 12 – Body Integration

This year, when did you feel the most integrated with your body? Did you have a moment where there wasn’t mind and body, but simply a cohesive YOU, alive and present?

(Author: Patrick Reynolds)

I felt the most at “one” with my body when I was snowshoeing up at my uncles’ property – up north last winter.  I was up in the high-end of the field, the air was crisp and my lungs were full and pure.  The exertion, the cold, everything was perfect and I felt strong and at peace.  My senses were tingly and it felt like sparks of cold electricity were shooting through my veins and firing me up – mind, body and soul.

I feel the same way in many respects when I am running and working out – especially afterwards – alive and invigorated.  But I think it is mainly when I am outside – out in the elements – in the woods, amongst the trees, the cold, fresh air and snow when I feel most cohesively ME – alive and present.

Since we are getting our first big snowstorm of the year, I am comforted knowing we will have a white Christmas and perfectly wonderful snow for some serious snowshoeing!  I am oh so ready for that!
