I Love a Rainy Day

This last week has been one rainy day after another.  In some ways, the gloom matched my mood and in other ways, it has inspired me and comforted me.  I love it.  The temps are cooler and instead of complaining about it as so many are doing, I embrace it.

I haven’t been able to write as I would have liked to but I’ve been thinking a lot and certain things regarding my novel are coming into focus.  I am excited to actually sit down and process it when I get home.

I know I’ve talked about “writer’s fat” and how sometimes storing up thoughts and ideas is beneficial to the writer.  I guess you could say I have been doing that lately.  I seem to have cycles where my writing flows like wine and other times when it slows to a sludge-like crawl.  I feel like I do more talking about writing than the actual act of it itself.  But I have no doubt in my mind that someday I will finish my book, write other books and I WILL be published.  The when is not important.  To keep pushing and writing, is.

Do certain days inspire you more than others?  What about the time of year?  As I’ve said in previous posts, Autumn is when I really feel creative.  But how about you?  What invigorates your writing or just you in general?
